Big, bold, and beautiful. She might be a little thirsty on gas but I would buy this before any other SUV. That 62 Continental grill is the icing on the cake

A friend of mine’s family has one of these in the top trim level. Pretty nice car, I wouldn't mind one. Plus they got it for like 70% MSRP or something ludicrous like that.

Cockpit-style with SQUARE GAUGES! HNNGH!

I don’t know...it looks like it needs more chrome.

What the? Is that real? The dials are
interesting
, the rest of the dash is not exactly my taste. To put it mildly.

That’s real and factory! The Mark Vs had square gauges!

They look a lot better w/o the chrome strip over the grill and at the bottom of the doors.
Also, I have to say, the Navigator has pretty much been at the bottom of the luxury SUV heap for the past two generations. I’ve been in several, and while nice, they aren’t quite on par with the old Escalade, and are on a different planet from the new one.

Back in the late 90s, I wound up in one of these when I’d reserved a rental Taurus. I don’t know about the current one, but the ‘98 or so model that I had was ungainly, difficult to park, and poorly assembled. I hated it.
Are these still body-on-frame? Were they ever?

Yes they were, and yes they are.

What year is this from?
![]() 04/18/2015 at 14:23 |

It looks like one of the earlier ones, I don’t think that’s a 2015.

It’s imposing and it’s cheap (than the competitors), but the Range Rover (even the Sport if you can’t spend that much) is a better choice..

Dumb technology, but so much easier to fix ....

2006ish-2014, I believe.

I’d love to get a 2015 out of warranty in a few years, so I can tune that FordBoost up!

2007-2014.
![]() 04/18/2015 at 15:36 |

Seriously? That looks terribly outdated for a 2014

I really wish it came with a clomun shifter

I would hope after 10 years they fixed the quality issues. And parking never has been a major concern for me. I live out in the sticks and have only parallel parked like twice in my entire life

I will have to disagree with you on the chrome stripe. I love the chrome stripe.
And I can agree the interior leaves you a little wanting. But with all that space and the nice captian seats I honestly could care less about the interior it is forgiven when I see the exterior

No taste

Yeah when the company can't sell them incentives sure are a nice way to being customers in

Ford really loves their ecoboost engines. I can't believe the new one doesn't offer a V8

Its imposing, it's reliable, and it has more space than Rhode Island. The Land Rover is a feat of SUV excellence but with less reliability than a Soviet era car I find them hard to justify

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I don’t disagree.. I like the Navigator more than the Escalade.. I’d just pick a new low-end Range Rover Sport, though.. Or a maxed out Evoque..

Ford is trying to out the V8 from their line up apparently, so I guess they figured if consumers were okay with it in their luxury SUV, then they can press on.
![]() 04/18/2015 at 18:05 |

The company giveth the V8 to the masses in 32 and the company taketh away

It’s only fitting.

Yeah. To some, it didn’t age well. For me, it’s perfect.

I’m sure they have - every Ford I’ve rented since the mid 2000s has been well put together. My ‘97 SHO was well assembled.
For my MD test when I was 15 we had to parallel park, do a three point turn, stop at a stop sign, signal, and turn left. I once won a woman’s heart when I threw my arm over her seat and parallel parked it like a champ. Give it a try.
